Event Opal - Two Way Active Nearfield Monitors (Pair)
From its inception, EVENT designed the Opal to be a very special product. Opal was seen as an opportunity to integrate ideas and develop technologies that would help achieve what was a very subjectively defined "ideal" sounding speaker system. The Opal was designed to improve over existing two-way systems with respect to transient response, consistent tonal character as output level increases, improved lower frequency response, mid-range and vocal definition and improved phase response. The EVENT Opal integrates several proprietary technologies with entirely discrete components.
A powerful neodymium motor drives an edge wound aluminium coil on a beryllium-copper dome for the ULD1 tweeter. A carbon fibre reinforced cone and 30Hz to 10kHz raw response is featured on the EX8 woofer driver. Complete aluminium cabinet construction provides low resonance and pure wide sound stage. The cabinet is also designed with complex radii to eliminate diffraction. The EVENT Opals feature microphone and software for room analysis and optimum configuration.
