IGS Audio Gold Mic - Large Diaphragm Tube Microphone
The IGS Gold Mic is a large diaphragm tube microphone referring to the structure of U47 and C12, inspired by the ELAM 251 design. Here there is absolutely no room for any compromises. The microphone is built on the 1-inch Thiersch STW7 capsule which is a direct continuation of the legendary Neumann M7 design. The audio path works with high-class Philips 1nF and SCR 4u7/250V capacitors. Black Gate 220uF Audio in the cathode lamp. Output transformer: Lundahl 1538. Built-in Philips EF80 tube from a selected audio series with gold pins. You can also order with a Telefunken EF86 tube. Box made of soft steel that ensures the best screening. Grill protecting the membrane is plated with 24-carat gold. Three directional characteristics. The set includes: the microphone, dedicated power supply, a 4m Octave Tube Germany connecting cable and flexible basket.
The sound is very close, modern, bright, detailed and heavily saturated. The microphone works great with vocals and acoustic guitar. Due to its excellent sensitivity and very low noise it is also good for choirs, groups or ambience. It also gives excellent results when recording double bass.
