Phonic Digitrack USB Audio Interface
Phonic Digitrack
Digitrack from Phonic is a new computer audio interface that improves the quality of digital audio recordings. Digitrack has numerous applications, including home studio and church recordings, creating and playing MP3s, archiving audio and high-quality computer audio playback in home stereo systems. It connects to the computer via USB and has stereo RCA and S/PDIF inputs and outputs to convert audio from analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog for recording and playback. A mini stereo headphone jack with volume control is included for monitoring incoming and outgoing signals. Phonic's Digitrack provides a solution to getting high-quality digital recordings with the computer. Traditionally, people use unbalanced analog cabling to connect the audio from a mixer, CD player or tape deck to a computer for recording. This is a rough way to make digital recordings. Computers create a lot of noise due to grounding issues, and this noise passes over the analog cable and affects the recording. The result is a second-rate digital recording. Digitrack overcomes the ground noise hurdle by acting as an interface between the audio device and the computer, stopping the noise before it makes it onto the recording. It also converts analog audio to digital before sending it to the computer. The computer receives a clean digital stereo audio signal that can be recorded and edited easily. Digitrack can be used as an interface between a mixer and a digital audio workstation, or can be packed with a laptop for an inexpensive way to record live sound. Stereo RCA and digital S/PDIF inputs and outputs allow for analog or digital input, and output to a number of analog and digital devices for playback or recording. Digitrack is a very versatile tool with a variety of applications such as churches that want digital recordings of their services, those who are converting old analog recordings to digital and people who mix tracks and create music with a computer. Digitrack helps produce higher-quality digital recordings on the computer - and for a very affordable price.
