Sennheiser HD201 Closed Circum-Aural Headphones
Our jaws just dropped when we first heard this unit. You have to understand just how bad big, cheap, sealed cans usually sound but, somehow, Sennheiser got it amazingly right with the sonics of these headphones. Sure they are a bit uneven, but they just sparkle and sing in an unusually superb way for a can at this pricepoint. The HD201 are the perfect gift headphone because the recipient will always be amazed at how good they perform. They are also the perfect headphone for commercial applications like museums and dental chairs -- First, because they are cheap, and, second, because your clients will appreciate the soothing, pleasant experience of quality sound.
This inexpensive plastic headphone is rather plain looking, but beneath its utilitarian exterior you'll find a durable build quality that will withstand the rigors of being knocked around the home/office for a very long time to come. The black and matte silver plastic earpiece has a full-size (circumaural) circular pleather earpad that surrounds the ear. The earpiece attaches to a very traditional bail that tilts and swivels a limited amount and slides up and down into the connecting headband to adjust for fit. It has a 10-foot cable that connects in a "Y" to both earpieces and terminates in a 1/8" mini-plug connector. An adapter to a 1/4" inch plug is included in the package.
