The ORPHEUS is a perfect marriage of form and function.
The highly sensitive 1.07" dual-diaphragm capsule is suspended in its own special mount, almost floating in the large, spherical basket. The body is cast from Zinc alloy, which gives almost zero resonance and helps to keep the signal crystal-clear. Omni, Cardioid & Figure 8 patterns, and a 10dB cut/boost function, make this microphone the perfect 'workhorse' in practically any studio or live sound application. Its low self-noise and unmistakable presence allows you to record the subtlest of instruments or voices without concern or the need to perform ‘surgery’ afterwards.
Supplied in a luxury wooden case, ORPHEUS is a combination of the past and the present, but more importantly it is unique. The XLR cable enters from the rear casing, allowing the cable to follow its natural route along the boom and therefore reduces strain on the cable, connector and socket. As the capsule is isolated in its own suspension, the ORPHEUS uses a direct mounting clamp, rather than the usual bulky shockmount, which all adds to the clean lines of this masterpiece.
