Vegas Pro 9 software natively supports frame sizes up to 4096x4096. The 4K image standard for digital cinema projection is 4096 x 2160 pixels. This level of resolution provides more detail and flexibility to pan and crop. It is ideal for compositing and video effects work, as it provides a high-quality final output. Vegas Pro 9 software also natively supports RED ONE™ files. You can open and edit .r3d files directly on the timeline as you would any other video file. There is no limit to the number of video and audio tracks you can use in a Vegas Pro project—nothing to impede your creativity or stop you from reaching your fullest potential.
Vegas Pro 9 includes over 190 customizable video effects including a new collection of sophisticated lighting effects. New in version 9 are Glint, Rays, Defocus, Starburst, Soft Contrast, and Fill Light. These affects let you simulate the effect of light streaming in from behind your source, create colored highlights, change the focus of your shot and more. Edit multicamera productions intuitively and quickly by specifying shots as you watch your project. Switch between as many as 32 video sources with a keyboard command or a click of your mouse. Vegas Pro 9 software keeps all unused shots as alternate takes to make fine-tuning your edits more efficient. Vegas Pro 9 software supports any aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9, etc.). Edit on 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 or 30 fps timelines. Use video in different sizes and frame-rates all on the same project or on the same track. No conversion is necessary. Render Vegas Pro projects out to just about any resolution. Vegas Pro also ships with DVD Architect 5, for authoring of DVD and Blu-Ray content.
